A unique project is already operating on the school grounds in Jija — a street library. This is not a temporary campaign, but a permanently functioning space where anyone — be it a student, teacher, or local resident — can exchange books. An atmosphere of trust and mutual respect for knowledge prevails here.How does it work?The library’s principle is simple and clear to everyone. Books are available for free reading on a special shelf.- Take a book: Anyone can choose a publication they like, take it home, and enjoy reading. The only condition is to make an entry in a special registration journal (write down your name and date).
- Return the book: After reading, the book must be returned to the same shelf so that it can continue its journey to the next reader.
- Share a book: Everyone can bring their own books that they have already read and wish to gift to the community. Thus, the library’s collection is constantly updated and replenished with new, interesting editions.
Why is this important?The school street library is more than just a place for storing books. It is a living example of civic consciousness and a culture of communication.- Trust and Responsibility. The system works thanks to the honesty of its participants. The entry in the journal is a symbol of personal responsibility before society.
