300+ children’s voices. One dream. Endless love. 🙏✨
When people say to me: “Tell us about the school,” I smile and sometimes stay silent. Because there are things that are hard to fit into dry reports or presentations. “GG” for me is not a business project. It’s a diagnosis given by fate itself. And I’m grateful to my “doctor” for it.
Where did the school come from? 🎓
Of course, as a child, I didn’t dream: “I’ll grow up and build a school.” Kids dream about other things. But perhaps my fate was written long before my birth. I was born and raised in a family of educators. The genetic code, love of knowledge, respect for the teacher—all this became the invisible foundation on which the walls of “GG” later stood.
I’ve lived in emigration since I was 17. My home is far from my homeland. But there’s a place where my heart beats faster. As soon as I hear children’s laughter, the name of an educational institution, or just imagine the noise of a school break—my mind instantly rushes there, to my native city—Zugdidi. It’s like a hunter’s reflex, who always returns to his calling. Only my “hunt” is creation.
Why a school, not a business? 🎓
Friends, relatives, and colleagues often asked me: “Why this headache? Wouldn’t it be better to open a restaurant or a supermarket? It’s easier and more profitable there.” I used to try to explain. Now I just smile. It’s impossible to convey in words the level of dopamine and happiness I feel knowing that back home, in my house, more than 300 vibrant little compatriots live and are raised. Their energy fuels me from afar. This is the only “hobby” that gives me oxygen, moral relief, and meaning. 💪
A path without compromises
I created this school myself. 💪
“GG” has no sponsors—never had any. No benefits or co-financing from authorities, utilities, or any other organizations. On the contrary—they charge maximum rates, as if saying: “Don’t you have money? Pay up!” I chose the path of independence, though out of necessity, but this path turned out to be more expensive.
Yes, it was hard to break into the city’s closed educational caste. It was hard to keep such a giant in a small city. There were moments when people tried to exploit my sincerity for their own purposes.
But I believe in the miracle of existence: since I didn’t plan this, and the school came about by the will of fate—it means it has a high purpose. What is it? I don’t know exactly. But I feel—it’s a good one.
The future is in reliable hands
My main concern is not to fall behind the world. Education changes quickly. The main goal of my travels is not rest, but search. Wherever I am, I look for innovations, methods, ideas that we don’t have yet, to implement them in “GG” We must tie progress to the traditions of our ancestors, forming worthy members of society.
❤️Family is my main support 👨👩👧👦
But the most important thing is my family.
I want to separately thank my family—my main ally and quiet strength standing behind every step I take. Their patience, faith, and daily support helped me get through all the trials. Without them, “GG” wouldn’t be what it is today.
I have three children. And for me, it’s of immense value that they fully understand their father. From childhood, they’ve imprinted the mission: not just to preserve “GG” but to care for it better than their father—to advance its development, protect its soul, and multiply its values.
I’m endlessly grateful to my wife for her angelic patience, love, and invisible labor. Grateful to my children and our entire big family for believing in me and our common cause.
🙏✨And I’m grateful to every parent who entrusted us with their most precious—their children.
“GG” is my “illness” that can’t be cured. And I don’t want to recover. Because as long as I’m “sick” with this cause—the school lives, breathes, and leads our children into the future. ❤️
With respect and faith in our children,
Founder of “GG” School, DA Gurtkaya
Children: “When dad talks about GG—his eyes light up. And we understand: it’s not just a school, it’s his heart.” ❤️
